Nhava Sheva, Maharashtra

Nhava Sheva or Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is in Navi Mumbai. Nhava Sheva has the largest container port in the country. JNPT is well connected by road and rail to the hinterland. Some of the main exports from Nhava Sheva are knitted garments, sporting products, cotton shirts, frozen meats, and medicament. 

Mumbai Port, Maharashtra

Mumbai Port Trust is also called Bombay port trust. The port handles 10% of the freight-handling and 19% of India total POL. It has a separate terminal for marine oil and has two terminals. Some of the main exports from Mumbai Port are motor vehicles, steel, oil, and coal. 

Vishakapatnam Port, Andhra Pradesh

Vishakapatnam Port was built in 1933. The port is in South India and is one of the most important ports in the region. The port is divided into three harbors the outer, inner, and the fishing harbor. The main exports from the port are iron ore, engineering, liquid cargo, etc.

Chennai Port, Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Port was early known as the Madras Port. It is the second-largest container port in the country. It is the largest port in the Bay of Bengal. Cochin Port, Kerala

The Cochin Port is in Kerala and is on the Arabian Sea. Its proximity to the Indian Ocean increases the significance of Cochin Port. Cochin Port has the largest transshipment facility in India. The main products exported from Cochin Port are tea, cashew, coir and coir products, coffee, pepper, cardamom, and other spices. 

Kolkata Port, West Bengal

The Kolkata port is close to the Bay of Bengal on the river Hugli. Kolkata ports have two dock systems in Kolkata and the other at Hubli. The main products exported are jute products, tea, coal, steel, iron ore, etc.

Tuticorin Port, Tamil Nadu

Tuticorin Port is in Tamil Nadu. It is a busy port and has the 4th largest cargo port in the country. The port is in the Gulf of Mannar it is strategic location protects the port from storms and cyclones. The main products exported from Tuticorin Port are granite, salt, sugar, cement, etc.

Ennore Port, Tamil Nadu

Ennore Port or Kamarajar Port Limited is on the Coramandel Coast is close to Chennai. Ennore Port is a private port. The port has excellent road and rail connectivity. The main exports from Ennore ports are cars, machinery, parts, and accessories of motor vehicles, etc. 

Panambur Port, Karnataka

Panambur Port (New Mangalore Port) is in Karnataka. The all-weather port has 17 births. The main imports from Panambur Port are coffee, iron ore, manganese, etc. 

Paradip Port, Orissa
